Near Aix-en-Provence, this magnificent estate, which belonged to Marquis Boyer de Fonscolombe and then to the Marquis de Saporta, retains the original family atmosphere and the charm of the privileged moments of the French nobility. After incredible restoration, it has become a five-star hotel unlike any other. A stop out of time. Originally was a spring near which the castle was built in the 18th century, in the Italian Quattrocento style: facade with balcony, tall windows, pools and fountains in the park. In the arid countryside of the Pays d'Aix, the water at Fonscolombe, generously poured in at several points as if by a miracle. After three centuries of history, Château de Fonscolombe reopens its gates just a short distance from Aix-en-Provence. Since the 18th century, the Château de Fonscolombe has radiated reflections of History, the spirit of the Enlightenment and the glow of festivities. In gilded splendor of the completely restored family Château, the adventure of a new lifestyle is unfolding.
The Château is designed as a large house where all the spaces join in a spirit of family while still preserving individual privacy. Beginning with the front steps, Château life is discernible in each of its 50 rooms. The historical salons of the Château, where echoes of the sumptuous receptions of the Saporta family still resound, are decorated with Genoa leathers and the Chinese wallpapers of the 18th century.
